Rome's homeless, refugees are guests at circus performance

January 14, 2016

About 2,000 of Rome’s homeless, refugees, and prisoners attended a circus performance on January 14, as guests of Pope Francis.

The Rony Roller Circus made the seats available for an afternoon performance, the papal almoner reports. The Vatican health services provided a van to offer medical services to those in attendance. The program opened with a song dedicated to the Pontiff by a homeless singer-songwriter.
