Italy expels Islamic radical whose son called for Pope's death

The Italian government has expelled a Macedonian man as a “terrorism prevention” measure. The man’s young son had recently called for the death of Pope Francis.
Ljimani Redjep, who had lived in Italy since 1998, was removed from his home near Treviso on January 13. Italian authorities said that he had contracts with radical Islamic groups in the Balkans and “is a strict observer of the rigid dictates of Salafist doctrine.”
After the November terrorist attack in Paris, Redjep’s 8-year-old son had told his grammar-school classmates that he approved of the killings and supported the Islamic State. “Now let’s go and kill the Pope in Rome,” the child said.
