Catholic Charities USA welcomes passage of spending, tax-credit bills

December 22, 2015

Catholic Charities USA has welcomed the passage of a $1.14-trillion spending bill and the extension of $680 billion in tax credits.

“The fact that the tax extenders package passed with bipartisan support is encouraging, but even more promising is the fact that our elected representatives recognize the need to help the poor and most vulnerable in our society by making the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) and CTC (Child Tax Credit) permanent,” said Sister Donna Markham, the organization’s president and CEO.

“With the passing of the omnibus appropriations bill, families in need will receive additional support through the funding of important anti-poverty programs,” she added.

Follow the money!Catholic Charities receives massive funding for refugee resettlement programs which is the real reason they are now and will always applaud our government's deficit spending! No mention of the people who have labored to earn this money, whose children can't benefit from our work because the money is taken from us. Oh, what an unholy alliance Catholic Charities has with the US govt. Beware when they cloak their greed in religious talk!

I guess Sister Donna Markham just forgot to condemn the spending bill's funding of Planed Parenthood, and its continued funding of Obamacare's mandatory contraceptive/abortifacieant provisions. Poor woman is so busy it just slipped her mind.

Yeah that's right! Keep on funding Planned Parenthood. It does so much for the poor!
