Joint Vatican-Israeli commission urges respectful treatment of migrants
December 18, 2015
Vatican officials and Israeli rabbis have joined in a statement urging a generous response to the “enormous current humanitarian crisis” of migration.
At the conclusion of a 2-day meeting in Jerusalem, a bilateral commission of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Vatican’s Commission for Religious Relations with Jews approved a statement highlighting the obligation to “love the stranger as yourself” while remaining mindful of the needs of one’s own community. The statement called for respectful treatment of migrants and more efficient procedures to handle the influx.
The bilateral commission met on December 16 and 17 under the joint direction of Chief Rabbi Rasson Arousi and Cardinal Peter Turkson.

That's really nice, except that neither Israel nor Vatican are taking in any immigrants. Israel allows only Jewish immigrants ("Law of Return").

Refugees, not "migrants". These people are fleeing for their lives.
