Pope celebrates 79th birthday with Italian Catholic Action Youth
December 17, 2015
Pope Francis, who celebrated his 79th birthday on December 17, received a cake from young visitors from the Italian Catholic Action Youth group.
Thanking the young people for their birthday wishes, the Pontiff also thanked them for the work their group is doing to provide support for migrants in the Agrigento diocese. He remarked that at his regular public audience the previous day, he had been introduced to a 5-month-old baby who was born on a boat as his parents migrated to Sicily. “Many children arrive, others do not make it,” the Pope said. “Everything you do for these people is good.”
