Vatican spokesman denies report on citizenship for bishop under investigation

The director of the Holy See Press Office has denied Italian media reports that a bishop has sought Vatican citizenship.

Bishop Francesco Micciché was appointed bishop of Trapani in 1998 and was removed from office by Pope Benedict in 2012. He is now under civil investigation in connection with the disappearance of diocesan funds.
