Jubilee in South Korea to include 30 tent-confessionals outside cathedral
December 17, 2015
Remembrance of the Korean martyrs, a pilgrimage for immigrants, and a youth pilgrimage to Seoul’s cathedral are among the special observances planned by the bishops of South Korea during the extraordinary jubilee of mercy.
On December 18, as youth make a pilgrimage to the cathedral to pass through the holy door, 30 tent-confessionals will be set up outside to allow them first to go to Confession, according to an AsiaNews report.
The East Asian nation of 50.6 million is approximately one-quarter Buddhist, one-quarter Protestant, and 10% Catholic, with large numbers professing no religion.
