Syria: 17 churches have been destroyed by Islamic extremists

At least 17 Christian churches in Syria have been destroyed or desecrated by Islamic extremists in the course of the country’s civil war, the Fides news service reports.
The documented attacks on houses of worship include cases in which churches were burned to the ground or dynamited, and some in which icons and relics were deliberately targeted for destruction.
