Pope postpones pastoral visits to Italian dioceses

Citing demands on the Pope’s schedule during the jubilee year of mercy, the office of Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, informed Cardinal Angelo Scola of Milan that Pope Francis will postpone his pastoral visits to Italian dioceses.

Cardinal Scola announced the news during a December 10 press conference.
The Holy See Press Office issued a statement referring to Cardinal Scola’s remarks and said that the Pope’s apostolic journey to Milan, scheduled for May 7, 2016, will be postponed until the following year.
