Fees surpass $5 million in Minnesota archdiocesean bankruptcy proceedings
December 04, 2015
A federal bankruptcy-court judge in Minnesota has approved $3 million in legal and professional fees in connection with the bankruptcy proceedings of the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis.
The total cost of fees incurred during the bankruptcy proceedings is now $5 million. Archdiocesan officials say that the high costs are caused by the complexity of the proceedings. In November, Judge Robert Kressel approved a request from archdiocesan officials to delay a final filing of a reorganization plan from the original deadline, November 30, until next May 31.
