Prayers requested as Mother Angelica, 92, fights for life

December 01, 2015

Mother Angelica, the 92-year-old founder of the EWTN network, has been placed on a feeding tube, and the nuns of Our Lady of the Angels monastery in Alabama have issued a request for prayers.

Mother Angelica, who founded EWTN in 1981 and built it into an international broadcasting powerhouse, has been mostly silent since suffering a debilitating stroke in 2001. Her health has reportedly worsened markedly in recent weeks, although the monastery describes her current condition as "stable."
