Egyptian Patriarch makes first visit to Jerusalem since 1980

The leader of Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church has made a visit to Jerusalem, for the first time in 35 years.

Coptic Pope Tawadros travelled to Jerusalem for the funeral of Archbishp Anba Abraham. His predecessor, Pope Shenouda III, had instructed the Coptic Orthodox faithful that they should not travel to Jerusalem until the Israel-Palestine conflict was resolved.
