The Balkan nation of 3.9 million is 12% Catholic and is governed by a three-person presidency whose members include a Bosniak, a Croat, and a Serb.
Recalling his one-day apostolic journey to the nation in June, Pope Francis spoke of the people’s capacity to suffer, to forgive and to ask for forgiveness, to work together, and to engage in dialogue.
