Welcome migrants and refugees, French episcopal conference urges

Amid news that France will host over 30,000 additional refugees, the National Solidarity Council of the Bishops’ Conference of France has called upon French dioceses to offer coordinated service to migrant families.

The Council’s October 28 statement recalled that “our sacred history commences with a migrant, Abraham, then passes through an Exodus and an Exile, [and] finally finds its center in Jesus, who had no place to lay his head.”
