Germany: gang accused of stealing from churches to fund Islamic State

Eight men are on trial in Cologne on charges of stealing chalices, crosses, and other items from churches and schools in order to assist the Islamic State and other Islamist rebel groups in Syria.

The burglaries took place between 2011 and 2014, according to a report from the German broadcast agency Deutsche Welle.
