Texas health officials serve subpoenas on Planned Parenthood
October 22, 2015
State officials in Texas have served subpoenas on three Planned Parenthood offices, seeking information on activities at 10 clinics in the state.
Government officials declined to discuss the subpoenas, but their investigation appears related to questions about two issues: reports on the sale of fetal tissue and charges that state funds are being used to pay for abortions in violation the law.
"The breadth and depth of what was requested this morning was unprecedented," said Sarah Wheat, a Planned Parenthood official in Austin. Subpoenas were also served at offices in San Antonio and in Houston.
