New Canadian prime minister to meet with archbishop, discuss stand on abortion and Communion

Newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that he is hopes to speak soon with Archbishop Terrence Prendergast of Ottawa, to clarify the implications of his public stance in favor of legal abortion.
Trudeau, who is Catholic, has said that political candidates in his Liberal Party must support access to legal abortion. In response Bishop Christian Riesbeck, an Ottawa auxiliary, said that Trudeau should not receive Communion.
Archbishop Prendergast has indicated that he wants to meet with Trudeau to discuss his stand. “I don’t think you can make a judgment about someone’s faith position simply by what is said in the public,” the archbishop told the Catholic Register.

I fear the Archbishop is about to cave and undermine his auxiliary bishop's forthright stand in defense of life.

Another politician who prefers power over principle and his faith...and so the Archbishop needs to ask the new prime minister to please be a man and live his Catholic faith, which includes the most beautiful and essential act of treating all life with respect.

“I don’t think you can make a judgment about someone’s faith position simply by what is said in the public,” the archbishop told the Catholic Register. So does Archbishop Prendergast believe that Trudeau should compartmentalize his Catholic faith when speaking in public? Isn't this tantamount to renouncing Christ and His teachings in public?
