Jordanian prince: Christian presence in Middle East must be protected

Prince Hassan bin Talal of Jordan said that the Christian presence in the Middle East must be protected, during a September 30 conference launching a new book on the history of Arab Christianity.
The Jordanian prince, who has sponsored various projects of inter-religious dialogue, said that it is absurd to suggest that Christianity is a “Western import,” since the faith arose in the Middle East, and helped to form the culture of the Arabic world. He said that Christians need “human protection” to ensure their survival in the region today.

It appears there has been a continuous Christian presence in Jordan since the time of Christ's crucifixion. In March 2015 the present King of Jordan - Abdullah 11 spoke before the European Parliament. He said "Religious coexistence combats extremism". Some EU members like us in Britain are still besotted with the notion of 'multiculturalism' instead. They plan to use forthcoming Anti-extremist legislation to control UK religious groups and their right to express disapproval and maintain a myth
