Catholic institutions shelter thousands amid renewed fighting in Central African Republic

Catholic parishes and other institutions are sheltering at least 5,000 persons displaced by renewed fighting in the Central African Republic, according to L’Osservatore Romano.

The Pontiff is scheduled to visit the nation in November.
Likely referring to UN peacekeepers, Archbishop Dieudonné Nzapalainga of Bangui, the nation’s leading prelate, said that “the international community that works here” seems “passive or incapable.”
