Pakistani court denies extra protection for Christians facing blasphemy charges

Christians who have been imprisoned in Pakistan on blasphemy charges fear that they could be killed by Islamic militants, the Fides news service reports.

Protestant Pastor Aftab Gill and three companions, who are now in prison in Punjab, asked for a security escort to accompany them to an October 16 court appearance, saying that they feared attack. Their request was denied.
