Former US envoys to Holy See endorse Jeb Bush

Three former American ambassadors to the Holy See have joined in an endorsement of Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush.

James Nicholson, Francis Rooney, and Mary Ann Glendon threw their support to the former Florida governor just before Pope Francis arrived in the US on September 22. All three of the former ambassadors served under Republican presidents.

    I have been a supporter of Jeb Bush since he announced. To my mind, he is far and away the best candidate and would make a superb president. Like I, he is a convert, a class of Catholics who often hold tighter to their faith than cradle Catholics.
