Serbian president meets with Pope, discusses refugee crisis

Pope Francis met on September 11 with President Tomislav Nikolic of Serbia, for a conversation that focused on the refugee crisis in Europe.

A brief Vatican statement released after the meeting indicated that the Pope and the Serbian leader spokea bout “the condition of Syrian and Iraqi refugees and displaced persons, and the importance of promoting a shared solution to the current crisis.”
