Zambia’s bishops call for freedom of the press
August 14, 2015
The bishops of Zambia have joined a coalition of 23 organizations that are calling for greater freedom of the press and of expression in the African nation.
“The Catholic Church wants to see a country where people can be free to express themselves,” Father Freeborn Kibombwe of the Zambia Episcopal Conference told Vatican Radio. “It is necessary to start an awareness campaign, to try to urge the government on this point.”
