Prelate decries West Bank arson attack

August 06, 2015

The retired Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem decried an arson attack on a Palestinian West Bank village and pleaded for peace.

Israeli government officials condemned the attack, which left an 18-month-old child dead, and the nation’s defense minister said that “we will not allow Jewish terrorists to harm the lives of Palestinians.”

“Israel should understand that time for peace has come,” said Patriarch Emeritus Michel Sabbah. “At present it is the Palestinians who are victims of Jewish terrorism; tomorrow it will be Israel. [The] time for peace has come. Every man in Israel with a sense of wisdom should work towards this end. Revise your way of thinking, in order to stay human on this Holy Land.”
