Why condoms have failed in Africa: a report from the scene

A Nigerian observer argues that the Western elitists who mocked Pope Benedict for his statement on condoms fail to realize the practical realities of life in sub-Saharan countries. Reliance on condoms, he says, shows a complete lack of understanding of how these societies live. His conclusion: "The West is addicted to technology as a substitute for free will and moral effort."
