Kenyan bishops’ leader vows to resist same-sex marriage

July 14, 2015

As Kenya prepares for a visit by President Barack Obama, the nation’s bishops vowed to resist efforts to promote same-sex marriage.

“We are not going to allow same-sex marriage,” Bishop Philip Anyolo, chairman of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, told Catholic News Service.

Bishop Anyolo added that the Church “has a prophetic mission to protect holy matrimony.”
