Syrian Orthodox prelate begs West: stop arming Islamic militants

June 29, 2015

Syrian Orthodox Patriarch Ephrem II pleaded for Western nations to stop providing weapons for Syrian militant groups, in an interview with Vatican Insider.

“We are not asking the west for military intervention to defend Christians and all others,” the Orthodox prelate said. “We are asking them to stop arming and supporting terrorist groups that are destroying our countries and massacring our people. If they want to help, they should support local governments, which need sufficient armies and forces to maintain security and defend respective populations against attacks.”

Right, Minnesota Mary. Patriarch Ephrem is on the ground in Syria. He is reporting the situation as it really is. No hype, no fluff, no phony puffing up of the "strong U.S. leadership in the region." Just the facts, pure and simple. The media reports that we are the good guys; the persecuted say STOP! As the Patriach points out, the solution is local. It is not from a drone console 10,000 miles away.

You'll never see this on FOX News or in the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, or Washington Post or any of the other major news media outlets. This Orthodox prelate knows exactly what is going on behind the scenes. How sickening.
