No standing still on spiritual journey, Pope tells pilgrims
June 08, 2015
“Pilgrimage is a symbol of life,” Pope Francis said in a message to participants in an annual pilgrimage to the Marian shrine at Loreto, Italy.
A pilgrimage, the Pope explained, “makes us think of life as walking, as a path.” Anyone who does not think of life as a continual process, who does not seek to move closer to God, is prone to “mediocrity and spiritual poverty,” the Holy Father said. He exhorted the pilgrims: “Do not stand still in life!”
