Ukrainian archbishop says Europe must address his country's crisis

June 08, 2015

The leader of the Byzantine-rite Ukrainian Catholic Church has said that the continuing violence in Ukraine is Europe’s most serious crisis since World War II.

“The aggression against Ukraine is a challenge for preserving peace in the world which cannot pretend that nothing happens in Eastern Europe,” said Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of Kiev.

The archbishop called upon European leaders to address the “humanitarian catastrophe.”

Europe can't respond without NATO and NATO needs the backing of the Obama administration to respond (not likely). We are getting a preview of what our world will be like when there is no one who will respond to a call for help.

One who expects a former KGB man like Putin to stay out of Ukraine will be sorely disappointed. My grandfather, who was from eastern Europe, often said that the Allies should have kept going and kicked the communist Russians out of eastern Europe after WWII.

Here's the solution for peace: The U.S. and Europe stop trying to put NATO into the Ukraine and stop sending arms to the illegitimate Ukrainian government that was installed by a coup with U.S. help. Putin agrees to stay out of Ukraine. But the Powers That Be don't want a peaceful resolution. $$$$$$$$ is the root of all evil.
