England sees rising trend in women entering religious life

The Independent, in a puzzled but generally favorable article, notes that the number of women entering religious life in England this year is higher than at any other time in the past 25 years.

In the past 5 years, the Independent reports, the number of women taking vows has tripled. The numbers remain comparatively small—45 in 2014, up from just 15 in 2009—when compared with the figures of a generation ago. Still the trend appears strong.
