India's prime minister expected to visit Catholic church

June 03, 2015

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit an ancient Catholic church when he travels to the state of Kereal this summer.

The prime minister will be in Kerala sometime in July or August to promote a tourism project. He is expected to visit the church of St. Thomas in Kodungalur, which traces its origins to the missionary work of St. Thomas the apostle.
