A court in Belfast has ruled that a bakery’s Christian owners illegally discriminated against a customer on the basis of sexual orientation when they declined a request to decorate a cake with the words “support gay marriage.”
The court also fined the owners $776.
“Much as I acknowledge fully their religious belief is that gay marriage is sinful, they are in a business supplying services to all, however constituted,” the judge in the case ruled. “The law requires them to do just that.”
