Papal appeal for peace in Burundi

May 18, 2015

During his May 17 Regina Caeli address, Pope Francis paid homage to the four saints he had just canonized, greeted Czechs who were recalling the 20th anniversary of St. John Paul II to the shrine of Svaty Kopecek, and appeal for peace in the African nation of Burundi.

“I wish to invite all you to pray for the beloved people of Burundi which is living through a delicate moment,” he said. “May the Lord help all people to flee the violence and to act responsibly for the good of the nation.”
