Romania's president meets with Pontiff

Pope Francis met on May 14 with Romania’s President Klaus Werner Iohannis, as the Holy See and Romania marked the 25th anniversary of the restoration of their diplomatic ties.

In “cordial” discussions, the Vatican reported, the conversation centered on the bilateral relations that resumed after the fall of Romania’s Communist regime.
