Over 50,000 people have already registered to attend a Mass celebrated by Pope Francis in Sarajevo on June 6.
Cardinal Vinko Puljic of Sarajevo disclosed the advance registration as he spoke about plans for the papal visit. He said that the congregation will be drawn mainly from Bosnia-Herzegovina, but many pilgrims are expected from other neighboring countries.
Questioned about security plans for the papal visit, the cardinal said that organizers are paying close attention to the matter, but had no particular reason for special concern.
