In an interview with the Missionary International Service News Agency, the Central African Republic’s leading prelate expressed cautious optimism about the end of civil conflict following a national forum that resulted in a peace agreement.
“Among the missions of the Church is to promote peace,” said Archbishop Dieudonné Nzapalainga of Bangui. “We have the duty of helping our Central African sons to return to being brothers and embrace dialogue. But the Church must also have the courage to denounce wrongdoings.”
