Archbishop in Medellin backs campaign for surrender of firearms

March 10, 2015

Archbishop Ricardo Tobon Restrepo of Medellin, Colombia, has thrown his support behind a campaign to rid the city of firearms.

The archbishop told the Fides news service that he supports the disarmament drive announced by Mayor Anibal Gaviria Correa. He said that people could surrender their guns at chuches.

“Weapons in houses have gone from being a security tool to a constant danger for the family,” the archbishop said. Similar campaigns to encourage the voluntary surrender of firearms have been carried out in Colombia at least twice in past years.

So now take away the only security the homes have and make it a gun free zone so only the cartel members will have guns. Another great solution from a soft headed bishop.
