The Eucharist ensures Christ is the center of unity, Pope emphasizes
March 04, 2015
In a March 4 address to bishops who are friends of Focolare, Pope Francis thanked the movement for anchoring its promotion of unity in the Eucharist.
The Eucharist, said the Pope, ensures that Christ, rather than a feeling or a “human, psychological, sociological” dynamic, is at the center of our initiatives.
The bishop, he added, is “the principle of unity in the Church, but this does not happen without the Eucharist.” Bishops, he explained, do not gather others to themselves or to their own ideas, but around “Christ present in his Word and in the Sacrament of his Body and Blood.”
