Christians again dominate US Congress

In the 114th US Congress, which will convene this week, 92% of the members identify themselves as Christian, and 31% as Catholic.
A Pew Research study finds that of the 301 Republican members of Congress, all but one are Christians. The Democratic membership includes 187 Christians (83 Catholics), 27 Jews, 2 Mormons, 2 Buddhists, 2 Muslims, one Hindu, and one who claims no religious affiliation.
The religious composition of the 114th Congress is essentially the same as for the 113th, a Pew Research study finds.
