Vatican releases, expels topless demonstrator

The feminist demonstrator who appeared topless and snatched the figure of the baby Jesus from the Nativity scene in St. Peter’s Square on Christmas Day has been released by the Vatican, but told not to enter Vatican territory again.

Yana Zhdanova, the Ukrainian leader of the activist group Femen, was arrested quickly after she rushed into the life-sized crèche displayed in St. Peter’s Square.
