Attacks on religious minorities are human-rights violations, Vatican envoy tells UN meeting

Attacks against religious minorities should be recognized as violations of fundamental human rights, the Vatican’s representative told a UN-sponsored meeting.

Archbishop Bernardito Auza reminded the UN audience of the call by Pope Francis for a “vast mobilization of consciences on the plight of persecuted Christians and of all religious minorities, who are denied their fundamental human rights for religious reasons.”
