Syrian bishops ask world leader: stop sending weapons

The Catholic bishops of Syria have issued a plea to world leaders to stop sending weapons into the war-torn country, the Fides news service reports.

“The powers of the world must know that it certainly does not help peace if they continue to send weapons here,” the bishops said after concluding their autumn assembly in Damascus this week.

The bishops encouraged the faithful to remain in Syria, but acknowledged that they understanding the suffering of their people and the impulse to find a better life elsewhere.

    But everyone knows that this isn't how the game is played...if one side won't play right, then they won't win in the long run.
