Pope Francis made a plea for Ebola victims at the conclusion of his regular public audience on October 29.
The Pope voiced his concerns about “this implacable disease that is spreading especially in Africa, and in particular among the most disadvantaged populations.” He praised the doctors, nurses, and volunteers “who are making heroic efforts” to help victims of the disease and to curb the spread of the epidemic.
World leaders should “take all necessary measures to eradicate the virus and to alleviate the suffering of those who are so sorely afflicted,” the Pope said. He asked the faithful to pray for the victims and for all those fighting the disease.
