Argentina’s bishops denounce embryo destruction

As Argentina’s lawmakers discuss legislation on embryos that come into being through artificial reproduction, the executive committee of the Argentine Episcopal Conference issued a statement denouncing the discarding and destruction of human embryos and their use in research.

“The state cannot be removed from its function of protecting life,” said the bishops, as they expressed closeness to those who struggle with infertility and called for the promotion of adoption.
