Work and pray together now, despite differences, Pope urges ecumenical community

October 28, 2014

In a meeting with the ecumenical Ark Community, Pope Francis said that Christians should work and pray together, not waiting for theologians to settle all questions of doctrine.

“We are sinning against Christ’s will because we continue to focus on our differences,” the Pope said. “But our shared baptisms is more important than our differences.”

The Ark Community was founded by Tony Palmer, the Evangelical leader and friend of Pope Francis who died suddenly in an automobile accident last year. The Pontiff met with members of the community on October 10; a recording of his remarks has now been released by the Ark Community.

The Pope spoke to the group about the common witness of Christians under persecution, especially in the Middle East and in Africa today. Many have died “because they believe in Jesus Christ,” the Pontiff said, and all Christians, regardless of denomination, should honor their memory and support those still suffering under persecution.

"....we should walk, pray, and work together now"....words to be heeded before we continue to sink into the hateful environment we are experiencing in our political world. We are better people than that and God expects more from us, right?

The Bishop of Albano, Italy, Marcello Semeraro, has forbidden the SSPX priests from administering the sacraments. The notification signed by Bp. Semeraro, who happens to be the secretary of the Gang of Nine assembled by Pope Francis… Cards. Marx, O’Malley, Rodriguez Maradiaga, etc, was signed on October 14th. To heck with Catholics, "ecumenicalize" with all others....
