Nepal: prelate calls for daily Rosary

October 03, 2014

The bishop entrusted with the pastoral care of Catholics in the largely Hindu nation of Nepal has called for the daily recitation of the Rosary.

“October is a month full of feasts in Nepal,” wrote Bishop Paul Simick, according to a Fides news agency report. “Our Hindu brothers celebrate at least six major religious feasts during the month … We venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary, through the powerful and contemplative prayer of the Rosary.”

“Only by praying the Rosary and asking for Mary’s intercession we will be able to overcome the difficulties we are experiencing as individuals, as families, as a Church, as a society and as a nation,” he added.
