Cardinal Kasper defends proposal, sees 'fundamentalism' in critics

Cardinal Walter Kasper continued to defend his proposal to allow Communion for some divorced and remarried Catholics, and to assail critics of that proposal, in a new interview.
The German cardinal said that his critics are fearful that “if you change one point, all would collapse.” Dismissing such fears of a “domino effect,” he said that his critics were displaying “a theological fundamentalism which is not Catholic.”
In an interview with the American Jesuit magazine America and the Argentine daily La Nacion, Cardinal Kasper stressed that his proposal would change the discipline of the Church, but not the doctrine.
Cardinal Kasper also sought to put his proposal in context, noting that it would be one of many subjects for discussion during the October meeting of the Synod of Bishops. “The problem of divorced and remarried is one problem, but not the only one,” he said.

Cardinal Kasper doesn't seem to grasp simple logic. The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. If you corrupt the source then everything else about Christian life will be corrupted.

Cardinal Kasper is correct in noting that the divorce and remarriage issue is not the only difficulty. There is also the problem of heterodox cardinals misleading the Faithful and the public-at-large.

Kasper must be blind or has his own agenda. There have been many of our bishops and cardinals who have really been relativists and not pro-Catholic Church. We should not change our doctrines and beliefs to satisfy those who want it only their way. Kasper should be aware of the homosexual agenda and see the damage it has caused with opening of the door many years ago. Will that be his next agenda that we accept same sex marriages? There should be no discussion.

What about St. Paul's teaching on proper reception of Holy Communion? Is that just a Church discipline, or is it a doctrine?
