September 28: day of prayer for upcoming synod
September 23, 2014
The president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is encouraging parishes, religious communities, families, and individuals to take part in the September 28 day of prayer for the upcoming Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
“The Extraordinary Synod on the Family is an important moment for the Church and for families,” said Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville. “I welcome wholeheartedly this day of prayer for the Synod fathers and for all who will participate. As the Church turns with special attention to the family, may God’s plan for marriage and the family be a source of hope and healing for all.”
