Islamic leader blames Vatican for attacks on mosques

The head of Turkey’s religious-affairs department has charged that the Vatican bears responsibility for a rise in the number of attacks on mosques in Europe.
Mehmet Gormez cited statistics showing that in Germany, the number of recorded attacks on mosques has jumped in the past year. He said that all religious institutions must take action to “prevent discriminative actions targeting the members of such a holy religion as Islam.”

I find it hard to understand how Mehmet was able to keep a straight face while making those charges. However it has been well documented that Islam is not open to logic in religious matters.

Where is Mehmet's condemnation of his fellow religionists' throat-slitting in Nigeria and their beheading of innocent people in Pakistan?

In this country, some attacks on mosques have actually been done Muslim parishioners themselves, trying to assert persecution. These "false flag" attacks are essentially hoaxes. It makes me wonder about Germany as well.
