Benedict XVI meets with leaders of traditionalist movement for youth

Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI met on Monday with a founder of a Catholic traditionalist movement.

Cosimo Marti, who helped establish Juventutum, an international group of young Catholics who promote the traditional liturgy, had requested a meeting with Pope Benedict last year. Marti said that he had assumed his request would be forgotten, and was stunned by an invitation to meet with the retired Pope.

Marti met with Benedict XVI along with Giuseppe Capoccia, who leads the annual “Populus Summorum Pontificum” pilgrimage to Rome. This year’s pilgrimage will mark the 7th anniversary of Summorum Pontificum, the papal document that provided for wider use of the traditional Latin Mass.
